What is SharePoint?

Microsoft SharePoint, composed of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), is a collection of Web-based software components designed to empower businesses in the areas of collaboration, content management, business processes and business intelligence. At its very base level, SharePoint's main function is to put management of content (documents, lists, records and Web information) back in the hands of the content authors, through the creation of specialized Web sites. It works equally well as a framework for building intranets, extranets, internets and as an application platform for creating business solutions.

PowerViews - SharePoint Add-ins

4 QTRS has developed a series of Windows SharePoint Add-ins, called PowerViews.  PowerViews are highly configurable suite of SharePoint web parts that we use to:

  • Aggregate data from across lists in multiple SharePoint sites.
  • Render data from multiple BDC (Business Data Catalog)
  • Render the data in a variety of formats, such as animated, interactive, and data driven flash charts, data views, tree view, and spreadsheet views.

PowerViews extend the out of the box SharePoint platform, creating solutions for providing vertical, scalable Windows SharePoint Services Business Solutions.
